Dave Golden was born and raised in a small town in upstate New York. He attended Albany State University and received his Bachelor's, Master's and Advanced Study Degrees from that school. Following college, Dave taught in the inner city of Albany for seven years. He became an Assistant Principal in 1979 and had his first Principalship in 1988. He and his wife, Sibel, moved to Washington State in 1995. He has been principal at Marysville-Pilchuck High School and, since 2000, has been a proud Royal. He lives with his wife and son, Eli, in north Seattle. When asked what he likes best about Lynnwood High School, Mr. Golden said, "In over thirty years of education, I have never been involved in a school that had a more considerate and kind group of students and staff. There is a sense of family at Lynnwood that just doesn't usually exist in high schools today. We are a really good school aiming to be even better."
