Physical Education
Missed a day of School??
Students may attend Advisory to make-up absences. Please get a note from your PE teacher to show to your Advisory teacher. There will be designated weeks of the semester for Advisory make-ups (typically in the weeks leading up to the end of a grading period).
Excused absences may be made up to receive full credit. Students must make up their absences at school, either before school, after school, or during Advisory.
-
Unexcused absences cannot be made up.
-
School-related absences do not need to be made up.
- For individual considerations, please contact the teacher directly.

LHS Physical Education Grading
Daily participation, cooperation and effort are key components of all LHS Physical Education courses. It is extremely important that students are in class and properly suited for participation each day, as well as actively participate with a positive attitude.
Since the majority (but not all) of a student's grade is based upon a student's participation in class, LHS Physical Education courses utilize a modified grading scale (see below) to assess a student's daily participation (i.e. effort, attitude, sportsmanship, etc). Other assessment criteria (i.e. written quizzes/tests, skill tests, etc.) are graded with a more traditional grading scale.
