Principal's Message

Hello Royal Students and Families,

Our school board has officially approved the agreement with our teacher’s union which allows us to communicate and continue our plans for offering hybrid in-person instruction for all students who want that option. This is exciting news and we can’t wait to have more students back in the building on April 19!

I know the district has sent out more detailed information on our plan but I wanted to write to you directly to address some common questions many of us have.

But before I get into the questions, I want to highlight an urgent action item we have for you. Now that we have more details on what remote and hybrid will look like, you may want to change your decision. If you would like to change your decision from hybrid or fully remote, please let us know by midnight on Sunday, March 28. You can change your answer by calling the main office at 425-431-7520, ext. 9 or email us at travism@edmonds.wednet.edu. If you are calling outside of normal office hours (7am-3pm) please leave a message with your name, your student’s name, and what you’d like your student to change to (Hybrid or Fully Remote). It is important that we receive change requests by this date.

Frequently asked questions

When will I come to school and what will our schedule be?

Lynnwood High will operate on a concurrent schedule. Which means on Mon, Tues, Thurs, and Friday all students will be in their classes, either in person or online, following the same bell schedule that starts at 7:20 and ends at 1:20. If you chose to stay fully remote, you will attend your classes via zoom all four days. If you chose hybrid, on two days you will be in person and the other two days you will be online. On Wednesdays, we will continue to have asynchronous remote learning for all students.

Here are the exact details of our bell schedule that we will use starting April 19 -

Hybrid-Remote Bell Schedule

I chose the hybrid option. What two days will I come in?

Students will primarily be divided along alpha lines.

  • Students with last names beginning with A through Le (cohort A)  will be in person on Mondays and Thursdays, and then on Zoom on Tuesdays and Fridays.
  • Students with last names beginning Lea through Z (cohort B) will be in person on Tuesdays and Fridays, and then on Zoom on Mondays and Thursdays.
  • We may have to make some individual adjustments to account for class sizes but will communicate those changes directly with families.

Can I request to have some of my day remote and some in-person?

This option is not available. Students and families will need to choose either the fully remote or the two day hybrid option.

Other Questions?

Please feel free to reach out to me or our main office. I will also continue to update us weekly on information as it comes in.

I know change brings stress and I am sorry for the additional stresses these changes have put on you. On the positive side, we are so excited to have students back in the building and I am encouraged that this is a sign that we are continuing to move forward and we can look towards better days ahead.

Go, Royals!
